Prospective Students

Graduate Students

If you are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. with Dr. Thompson at Kent State University, please click here for more information about the graduate program and application procedures. The SPROUT Lab plans to review applications for prospective graduate students seeking to begin the program in Fall 2027. To promote equity in the application and review process, Dr. Thompson does not meet individually with prospective students. However, prospective students are welcome to reach out by email with any questions or inquiries. Applicants interested in either the Social-Health and Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology Ph.D. programs are encouraged to apply.

Undergradruate Students

If you are interested in joining the SPROUT Lab as an undergraduate research assistant, please complete this application and email the completed form to Dr. Thompson ([email protected]) and the SPROUT Lab ([email protected]).

Participation in the lab requires a minimum two-semester commitment. Students may enroll in 2-3 credits of PSYC 31498 (Undergraduate Research) each semester, corresponding to 6–9 hours of lab work per week. Volunteer options are also available. Questions may be directed to Dr. Thompson.
